Summary Art in Tanzania is a Tanzanian NGO operating multiple community work programs. We perform a wide range of social sector support programs in Tanzania. Details Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. Our community placements attract about 250 participants annually. Our vision is to give students hands-on experience working in developing African communities. In addition to your studies, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience of African culture and life, as well as fantastic natural scenery and wildlife. Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility work. The standard Social Sector focus tasks are as follows: Orphanage programs Children Under School Age Care centres Education programs development Women's programs support Human Rights Elderly care Public Health Community psychology Academic-level team leaders supervise your internship daily. We also monitor the weekly plan to ensure your work and report progress in your study program. The internship outcome is learning to apply your education in developing country conditions with limited capacity, gaining experience, and a better understanding of the opportunities in a fast-growing economy. Work hours are 6 to 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The program is ongoing, so the start dates are adjustable. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests, empowering our daily work with the communities. The start and end dates are flexible. You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable safaris and tours. Typically, we have 15-40 students from diverse parts of the world, representing over 400 universities with which we collaborate, as well as various professions. The Benefits and Perks are as follows: Accommodation and meals are personal expenses. For 1-13 weeks, EUR 175 per week covers accommodation with breakfast and dinner, the student compound facilities, and professional tutoring. From week 14 onwards, the cost is EUR 125 per week. Airport transfer is EUR 60 one way, which is a personal expense. A charity visa for immigration, which costs USD 50, is a personal expense. A multiple-entry visa for less than 12 months is USD 250. We pay interns a USD 50 monthly stipend, which is small but 2x Tanzania's national minimum wage. Flights are a personal expense. Local transport, if any, is a personal expense. Note that Erasmus+ funding can be applied for the Tanzania training.
