NGO Management Internship in Tanzania
Beskrivning:
Summary Art in Tanzania is a self-sustaining non-profit charity NGO. We have been engaged in community-based development work and running self-sustainable operations since 1996. Details Art in Tanzania has been active since 1996. Our community placements attract approximately 250 participants each year. Our vision is to provide students with hands-on experience in developing African communities. In addition to your studies, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience African culture, life, its stunning natural beauty, and diverse wildlife. Our community programs prioritise empowering local communities and assisting individuals living in poverty. You can observe Tanzania's daily life and culture while witnessing the growth of one of Africa's fastest-growing economies. Students will engage in and assist in managing the NGO's daily operations. Simultaneously, you gain valuable experience in running an NGO in developing Africa. You help manage the daily activities of volunteers and interns across multiple programs. In addition, you create weekly plans and reports, handle budgets and accounts, develop ongoing community programs, and strategise new approaches. The internship aims to teach how to use and gain experience implementing education in developing countries with limited capacity. Most importantly, it aims to develop work skills for an African non-governmental organisation (NGO). Academic-level team leaders oversee your daily work. We also track your progress using a weekly planning and reporting system to ensure your success in your placement work. Additionally, interns collaborate in teams with international students and volunteers to gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities in a rapidly growing economy. Work hours range from 6 to 8 hours daily, Monday to Friday. The program is ongoing, so the start dates are flexible. Your placement is customised according to your background, experience, and interests to enhance your daily community work. Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility efforts. The start and end dates are flexible, as all programs are ongoing, with many having been running since 1996. You and your visiting friends can enjoy affordable, eco-friendly safaris and tours. We typically have 15 to 40 students from various parts of the world, representing over 400 universities with which we collaborate, as well as a diverse range of professions. The Benefits and Perks are as follows: Accommodation with breakfast and dinner is EUR 175 per week, a personal expense. However, after the first 13 weeks, the cost drops to €125 per week. Airport transfers from and to EUR 120 are a personal expense. A charity student or volunteer visa costs USD 50, which is a personal expense. A less-than-one-year multiple-entry charity visa for less than one year costs USD 250. We pay you a $50 monthly stipend, which is small but twice the national minimum wage in Tanzania. Flights are a personal expense. The local transport program in Tanzania is a personal expense, but small if needed. Note that Erasmus+ funding can be applied for the Tanzania training.
